Job Title: Community Relations Manager – Houses For Warriors

 

Overview:

Houses For Warriors is seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to serve as our Community Relations Manager. This volunteer position is instrumental in building and strengthening relationships with the community, local organizations, and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility of Houses For Warriors and fostering collaboration to support our mission of assisting military veterans in their journey to civilian life.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Community Engagement:

   – Actively engage with the local community to raise awareness about Houses For Warriors and its mission.

   – Attend community events, meetings, and networking functions to represent the organization.

 

  1. Stakeholder Relationship Management:

   – Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and government agencies.

   – Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for partnership and mutual support.

 

  1. Media and Public Relations:

   – Develop and implement strategies for positive media coverage and public relations.

   – Draft press releases, articles, and other communication materials to highlight the organization’s initiatives.

 

  1. Event Coordination:

   – Plan and coordinate community events hosted by Houses For Warriors.

   – Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless execution of events and community outreach activities.

   – Work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to organize volunteers to attend and represent Houses For Warriors at events and veteran-focused community events, maximizing our presence throughout Colorado.

 

  1. Collaboration with Veterans Organizations:

   – Liaise with veterans organizations to enhance support services and foster collaboration.

   – Attend meetings and events organized by veteran-focused groups to stay connected with the veteran community.

 

  1. Partnership Development:

   – Identify and pursue partnership opportunities with local businesses, schools, and community organizations.

   – Collaborate with partners to organize joint initiatives that align with the mission of Houses For Warriors.

 

  1. Social Media and Online Presence:

   – Manage and enhance the organization’s social media presence.

   – Create content to showcase the impact of Houses For Warriors and engage with the online community.

 

Qualifications:

 

– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

– Proven experience in community engagement, public relations, or related fields.

– Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

– Passion for supporting military veterans and a commitment to community service.

 

Time Commitment:

This is a volunteer position requiring a flexible time commitment, estimated at 10-15 hours per week. Availability for occasional evening or weekend events is necessary.
