ABOUT US

From Houses For Warriors to Homes For Warriors

At Homes For Warriors, we believe that every veteran and first responder deserves more than just housing—they deserve a place to call home. For four years, our organization (formerly Houses For Warriors) operated a successful Transitional Housing Program, helping more than 40 veterans rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness. Through that program, we learned that true stability begins not just with a roof, but with a home that feels whole.

As we step into this new chapter, we’ve evolved our mission to make a greater impact. Our focus now centers on transforming empty apartments into fully furnished homes for veterans and first responders who are transitioning from homelessness or struggling financially. Through our Homes For Warriors Program, we provide free furniture, appliances, and household essentials—ensuring that every Warrior can step into a dignified, comfortable, and empowering living space that supports long-term success.

But our mission extends beyond furniture. We’re dedicated to fostering transformational growth—helping Warriors build confidence, independence, and a renewed sense of purpose. We provide mentorship opportunities, personal development resources, and community engagement projects that inspire growth, leadership, and belonging.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission at Homes For Warriors is to transform the lives of military veterans and first responders by turning empty apartments into true homes—and their transitions into lasting transformations. We strive to create safe, stable, and inspiring living environments that foster dignity, growth, and belonging.

Through our Homes For Warriors Program, we provide free furniture, appliances, and essential household goods to veterans transitioning out of homelessness or facing financial hardship. By furnishing homes and empowering personal development, we give our Warriors the foundation they need to rebuild their lives with confidence, purpose, and hope.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every Warrior has more than just a place to live—they have a home that supports healing, self-sufficiency, and pride. With the help of our community, volunteers, and partners, we continue to honor those who served by helping them create a stable and meaningful future.

VISION

We envision a world where no veteran or first responder starts over in an empty apartment—where every Warrior has the tools, community, and mindset to thrive. By turning houses into homes, we’re not just furnishing rooms—we’re restoring hope, rebuilding lives, and honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes.

Our Legacy

From 2020 to 2024, our Transitional Housing Program provided safe shelter, mentorship, and structure to veterans in need. We’re proud to have guided more than 40 veterans through their journeys to stability, helping many secure permanent housing, employment, and renewed hope. These experiences shaped who we are today and continue to fuel our passion for serving those who served us.

A HAND UP NOT A HAND OUT

We help, guide, and direct homeless and at-risk military veterans into self-sufficient status while providing a safe, caring and loving environment. We believe that every Warrior deserves a Hand-Up so they are more equipped to handle modern society’s fast-paced lifestyle. Growth is possible at any age, any stage of life, and for any life path. Warriors have spent their whole lives Serving, so now it is time for them to be given a place to transform their lives.

WHAT IS A HAND UP?

A strong community requires a strong foundation. Groups of Warriors are strong individuals, but they are even stronger together. Providing them with the resources they need for life-changing success heightens their chances for avoiding homelessness, overcoming mental health struggles, and re-assimilating as a high-functioning member of society. A hand-up is a resource, such as a program or class, that paves the way for Warriors’ seamless transition after their Service ends.

WHAT WE DO TODAY

Today, Homes For Warriors focuses on creating homes, not just housing. Through partnerships with local businesses, donors, and volunteers, we collect and deliver furniture, appliances, and household goods directly to veterans in need—at no cost. Each delivery represents a fresh start, a sense of ownership, and a tangible reminder that they are not alone.

Our veteran-led team understands firsthand the challenges of military transition, post-service adjustment, and financial hardship. That’s why we’re committed to serving with empathy, integrity, and respect—meeting each Warrior where they are and helping them move forward with pride and purpose.
